IMPORTANT VISA DUBAI INFORMATION

If you are a citizen from one of the following countries then you don’t need to apply for the visa Dubai or get any visa for the United Arab Emirates if the duration of your stay is less than 1 month.

These exempted countries are:

United States, UK, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Finland, South Korea, Spain, Monaco, Vatican, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein,Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

GCC NATIONALS

The requirements for a Dubai visa vary greatly between different nationalities and it is always advised to check regulations before traveling. Currently, every nationality entering the UAE needs a visa except citizens of the GCC countries.

GCC means Gulf Cooperation Council and the following countries are in it: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Also expatriate residents of the GCC (certain nationalities and professions) and British citizens with the right of abode in the UK do not need a visa for Dubai.

Citizens from the following European countries will also receive their Dubai visa on arrival at the Dubai Immigration: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Vatican.

Additionally, nationals from Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea in Asia, as well as citizens from the United States of America and Canada will also get their Dubai visa stamped on arrival.

GCC nationals can stay in Dubai usually as long they like. British citizens can stay for up to one month and thereafter apply for a Dubai visa extension of two more months. European, American, South African and Australian citizens may obtain a visit visa from the UAE embassy in their respective countries before departure. Please note that Israelis and travelers whose Passports have Israeli stamps in it will be denied a Dubai visa in most cases.

OTHER NATIONALS

All other nationalities must apply for their Dubai visa before they enter the country. That can be done either through their respective embassy, through a local sponsor from the United Arab Emirates or a local hotel.

DUBAI VISAS FROM HOTELS

Tourists to Dubai can get a Dubai visa from a travel company or a hotel by making a reservation for at least one night. The Dubai hotel needs to have a copy of the passport in that case together with the reason for the visit to Dubai (vacation is accepted as a reason for that). Additionally the hotel in Dubai needs to know the arrival date. You have to ensure that you get a copy of your Dubai visa as soon as it is issued. Airlines do require proof hat a Dubai visa is issued before you can check in at the airport.
